My name is Maria Ramirez and I am a Community Mental Health Promoter with Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health INC. Our Community Mental Health Promoter Program is funded by Riverside University Health Systems, Behavioral Health Department.
Our program services local Native Americans that are affected by mental illness. I understand we tend to stray away from sensitive topics but our goal is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness by providing education and resources for our Native Communities.
Currently due to Covid restrictions we are offering our services virtually via Zoom platform. We offer 1 hour presentations on topics such as Self-Care, Anxiety, Depression, and Suicide Prevention and also offer cultural activities when we can implement them virtually.
We are looking to collaborate with as many community partners as we can by providing these services and attending community meetings and events. Please let us know how we can provide resources to your community, staff and clients.
